TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS

Thank you for choosing Downwood Veterinary Centre to care and attend to your pet. The following details our practice Terms and Conditions, if you require further explanation or clarification on any of the following, please refer to the Practice Manager.

APPROVED TRAINING PRACTICE
Downwood Veterinary Centre Ltd is an approved veterinary nurse training centre. We are regulated and reviewed as a training practice on a yearly basis. Student nurses at varying qualification levels will be involved with your pets care.


FEES
All fees, diets, drug charges are subject to VAT at the current rate of 20%. Fee levels are set by the time each case requires and also in accordance with the drugs, materials, consumables and diets used. A list of routine fees can be found at reception.
You will receive a fully detailed invoice for every surgical procedure, consultation and transaction.
We will happily give you an estimate of the probable cost of treatment but please bear in mind that any estimate given can only be approximate- often an illness or injury may not follow the conventional course!


METHOD OF PAYMENT
Accounts are to be settled at the end of each consultation, when you collect your pet after surgery/hospitalisation and upon collection of diets, shop items and prescriptions.
You may pay by any of the following methods-
CASH
DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS- Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Switch/Maestro. Sorry, we do not accept American Express.


SETTLEMENT TERMS
Any account not settled within 30 days will result in reminders being sent, balances outstanding for more than 60 days may incur a charge of £5.50 for administration costs. With due notice to you, the client, unpaid accounts may be referred to an external Debt Collection Agency, this will incur further charges to you in respect of costs involved in the collection of the debt, correspondence, court fees, attendance at court, phone calls and production of reports.
Any  credit card transaction that is not honoured, will result in the original account being restored and charges added in respect of bank charges and administrative costs.


INABILITY TO PAY
If for any reason you are unable to settle your account please discuss the matter as soon as possible with the Practice Manager.


PET HEALTH INSURANCE
We strongly recommend pet insurance for peace of mind when the unexpected happens. We have a variety of insurance companies details available in the waiting area, please ask at reception for further information.


OWNERSHIP OF RADIOGRAPHS
All case records, radiographs, ECG readings, ultrasound findings are the property of Downwood Veterinary Centre, copies of these will be passed on to another Veterinary Surgery by request. Although we charge for these investigations and interpretation of the results, ownership of the records remains with the practice.


COMPLAINTS POLICY


Downwood Veterinary Centre is committed to providing an excellent quality of care and service to our clients and patients.
When something goes wrong we need you to tell us about it. This will help us to improve our standards.

If you have a complaint you can contact us either-

What will happen next?

Every complaint is treated as a clear expression of dis-satisfaction with our service so and every one will be dealt with promptly, politely and when required, confidentially.

On receiving a complaint we will-
a) Acknowledge receipt and an investigation will be begin
b) After an investigation, we will report of findings with an explanation or apology.
c) A resolution will be discussed with you according to the nature of the complaint
d) A review of procedures/policies and or training will be undertaken to prevent the issue from rising again.
